An Uncertain Choice by Jody Hedlund

An Uncertain Choice by Jody Hedlund

I found this to be a wonderful tale. I love the medieval time setting. I really like the romantic story. While Rosemarie finds 2 of the 3 knights competing for her hand to be kind and flattering she develops a deeper connection with the 3rd knight. Even though the 3rd knight does not seek her hand in the beginning because he feels his lack of land means he is not a suitable match. This story finds Lady Rosemarie having 1 month to decide to find and marry for true love or enter the convent because of a promise her parents made at her birth. I found her courageous in her own way and her care and concern for the poor and afflicted in the kingdom to be heartwarming. Her fierce opposition of torture of criminals leaves her at odds with her sheriff. The knight she falls for supports and challenges her to be a better person and they balance each other very well.

I have seen some reviews that found Lady Rosemarie to be a weak lead, but I don’t feel that is the case. I think the author stayed a bit truer to the time period and role of women then some authors do. Women didn’t sword fight or those things in those days.  They did rely on guards and male family members for physical protection. While I am all for a female lead that can battle her way out of trouble. I think the type of opposition Lady Rosemarie shows in the tale is more accurate.

Book review for Silver Moon (Book 7 in the Silver series) by Cheree Alsop

Book review for Silver Moon (Book 7 in the Silver series) by Cheree Alsop

This was a great book. It really sticks with you. We read this book from Jaze’s perspective again. It had some happy moments, but many sad profound moments in this one. The series didn’t end at all like I thought it would. It definitely surprised me. The losses to the group we have gotten to know throughout the series are staggering. And yet, Cheree Alsop leaves hope for many and hope for the future of the werewolves. I usually hate it when authors kill off characters that I have gotten invested in knowing, but the ones we lose fit the story, even though it was heartbreaking. I don’t want to give away the details. Go read it! J

Book Review for Fired Up (Trouble in Texas #2) by Mary Connealy

Book Review for Fired Up (Trouble in Texas #2) by Mary Connealy
I thought this book would be good or I wouldn’t have read it, but I was prepared to like it least of the 3 in the series. I ended up liking it the best J Mary Connealy made me laugh out loud at some of the scenes in the story. Dare and Glynna’s story was fun to read. For a while it was hard to tell who was trying to kill Dare. I would think I knew who it was, then some piece of information would come to light and I was not sure again.

Book Review for Hunter (The Silver Series Book 6) by Cheree Alsop

Book Review for Hunter (The Silver Series Book 6) by Cheree Alsop

This is a great book. I give it 5 stars. It was a fun read about werewolves. Dray was very different from the others we have seen so far. I loved that we also got to see Gem from Azure (Book 5) some more. The farm and small town setting provide a great backdrop for this tale. I highly recommend this book and any from Cheree Alsop.

Book Review for: The Vow by Jody Hedlund

The Vow by Jody Hedlund is a novella that is the prequel to An Uncertain Choice.
It is a good historical fiction story. We get to see the beginning of Lady Rosemarie's story. I had never read any books from Jody Hedlund before. After this I read quickly went to reading An Uncertain Choice. I had to see how Lady Rosemarie's story worked out.
